History of the Academy

Since gaining state independence, issues of training highly qualified personnel in various specialties and industries have become strategically important for the young Republic of Kazakhstan. It was clear that there was no need to wait for outside help. In this regard, the country's leadership placed special emphasis on its own reserves, development of its own potential and Kazakhstan's educational model. As a result, in Kazakhstan, the private and public education sectors have an opportunity to develop on an equal legal basis. Our Academy, which at that time was a University and was named after the outstanding statesman of Kazakhstan – Dinmukhamed Akhmedovich Kunaev, was actively involved in this process. The University received its start in life with the personal blessing of Dinmukhamed Kunayev in 1993 and to this day proudly bears the name of this great man. Eurasian law Academy. D. A. "College named after D. A. Kunaev". In 1994, on the basis of College named after D. A. Kunaev was formed "Kazakh humanitarian Institute named after D. A. Kunaev"; in 1995 it was reorganized into the "human Institute. D. A. Kunaev"; then in 1999 it became "humanitarian University named after D. A. Kunaev". D. A. Kunaeva". Since July 11, 2000, the University has become a " University. D. A. Kunaeva". Finally, 2015 marked new prospects in the development of the University: the goals of training personnel in the framework of the implementation of the principles of the Bologna process and the development of joint educational programs with universities in Europe and the Eurasian economic Union were set, which determined the new name that includes the international component and reflects its profile orientation-the D. A. Kunaev Eurasian Law Academy. Previously, the Academy included three regional branches in the cities of Astana, Karaganda and Taldykorgan. Now the University consists of two colleges located in Almaty and Talgar. The Academy is located in the Central, "student" part of the city of Almaty, at the intersection of Kurmangazy and Baitursynov streets.

The Academy has its own educational and administrative complex that provides appropriate conditions for students to study and work with administrative, managerial and teaching staff. The Academy has a unique forensic testing ground, specialized laboratories, a courtroom, equipped with the latest classes with access to the world information network "Internet". At the same time, the Academy has deservedly acquired the status of a well-known scientific center, since the University trains both master's and PhD students in legal Sciences. In 2001, Professor Zhalairi Died.Sh. takes the initiative and together with the Institute of international law and international business "Daneker" opens the joint dissertation Council for the defense of master's theses at the University named after D. A. Kunaev.

Since 2008, this Council has been transformed into a doctoral joint dissertation Council jointly with Buketov Karsu – the only One not only in Kazakhstan, but also in the Central Asian region, which is granted the right to defend candidate and doctoral theses in such new and highly sought-after scientific specialties as international law and the judiciary.

The dissertation Council of the Academy was "international" in law, since it included well – known foreign legal scholars: from Russia, doctor of law, professors Avtonomov A. S., Mizulina E. B., Velyaminov G. M., from Uzbekistan, doctor of law, professors Alimov K. Z., Mirzaev T. R., Matkarimova G., Rakhmanov A. R.

More than 200 people defended their candidate's theses in the dissertation Council, and 15 people defended their doctoral theses, including young scientists from China and Vietnam.

During its existence, the Academy, thanks to the team, made a serious bid, taking its rightful place in the educational market of the Republic and continues to make a significant contribution to the training of specialists for the common good of the progressive development of Kazakhstan in the third Millennium.

On October 1, 2002, the University's history Museum was inaugurated in the University building. D. A. Kunaeva. The ceremony was attended by relatives and friends of Dinmuhammed Kunaev. The exhibition hall presented personal items donated by relatives, as well as photo materials about the life of the University.

On January 12, 2012, as part of the Republican campaign for the 100th anniversary of D. A. Kunaev "100 great deeds", a new 12-storey educational complex of the Academy was inaugurated. The building, with a total area of 14,600 square meters and a study area of more than 8,000 m2, included more than 130 classrooms and is equipped with 6 computer classes with free Internet, 12 interactive classrooms, 11 specialized classrooms, and many others.

Today, graduates of The Kunaev Academy are rightfully proud of their "Alma Mater", which gave them the most important wealth - knowledge, opened new horizons for them in terms of professional and career growth. Today, almost all graduates of the Academy successfully work in various areas of public administration, in law enforcement and judicial bodies, in the banking and financial sector, and in private business.

Thus, the Academy, for 25 years of its existence, has made a significant contribution to the training of specialists with higher education and to the development of legal science in Kazakhstan as a whole.

"Not to be proud only of past achievements, but to continue working on further improvement of scientific and educational activities" - this is, perhaps, the main postulate and motto of the Academy.

The D. A. Kunaev Eurasian law Academy, a University with a rich tradition and many years of experience in academic and scientific work, has been training highly qualified legal personnel since 1993. Over 27 years of successful activity, the Academy has trained more than 40 thousand highly qualified specialists.

The Academy occupies a worthy place in the country's educational market and continues to make a significant contribution to the process of training competitive and highly qualified specialists in various areas of the national economy.

Chronology Of The Academy:

1.The higher non-state educational institution "Kunaev College" was established by the General meeting of founders on may 5, 1993 and registered as an economic entity by the akimat of the Kalininsky district of Almaty on June 3, 1993, certificate No. 28066472.

2.In 1994, the Kazakh humanitarian Institute was established on the basis of Kunaev College. D. A. Kunaeva, registered by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan on October 11, 1994 for No. 56989 as a limited liability partnership.

3.In 1995, according to the order No. 13 of November 20, 1995, LLP " Kazakh humanitarian Institute named after. D. A. Kunaev "was reorganized into the newly formed institution" Humanitarian Institute. D. A. Kunaeva " which conducts its activities in the field of education.

4.The establishment of "Humanitarian Institute. D. A. Kunaeva " was registered By the Department of justice of Almaty on December 18, 1995 as a private higher education institution.

5.Based on the certificate of state re-registration of a legal entity of the Ministry of justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan (reg. # 1313-1910-U-e from 12.01. 1999), Humanitarian Institute. D. A. Kunaev renamed the Humanities University. D. A. Kunaeva since 12.01.1999

6.Based on the decision of the meeting of founders of the Humanities University. D. A. Kunaeva (Protocol No. 7 of 25.06.2000), Humanities University. D. A. Kunaev was renamed from 11.07.2000 to the University.D. A. Kunaeva

7.In connection with the merger of the " University.D. A. 8.In connection with the re-registration and renaming of the Institution " University. D. A. Kunaev " to the establishment of the Eurasian law Academy named after D. A. Kunaev, based on the decision of b/n dated 04.04.2015.

The D. A. Kunaev Eurasian law Academy is the only private specialized educational institution with a legal profile in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Our Academy is a continuous system of education that includes College, bachelor's, master's, and PhD programs. More than 60% of the academic staff of the Academy are well-known scientists in Kazakhstan, doctors and candidates of science. This allows us to realize the special mission of the Academy in the integration of science and education, which serves as the basis for the dynamic development of Kazakhstan's society.

The UNIVERSITY received the right to train all categories of specialists in the third group of specialties "Law". Bachelor's degree: 5VO30100-Law; 5VO30200-International law; 5VO30300-law Enforcement; 5VO30400-Customs. Master's degree: 6MO30100-Law; 6MO30200-International law. Doctorate: 6DO30100-Law.

Currently, the D. A. Kunaev Eurasian Law Academy has concluded a Memorandum of cooperation in the field of training specialists with the Ministry of internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republican bar Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the state revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Almaty city Prosecutor's Office, and the Almaty city court in order to strengthen its practical orientation in training legal personnel.

According to the agreement reached with the first heads of law enforcement services of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the UNIVERSITY will also train legal personnel for law enforcement agencies.

Memoranda of cooperation in the field of training specialists are being signed with the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Prosecutor General's office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Ministry of justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The law Academy maintains academic and scientific relations with the Kyrgyz state University (Kyrgyz Republic); the Federal state budgetary educational institution "Kutafin Moscow state law University (MSU)" (Moscow, Russian Federation); the higher professional education institution "Moscow Academy of Economics and law" (Moscow, Russian Federation) (an agreement on the establishment of a consortium of universities) and other Universities and research institutions.

The Academy has its own educational and administrative buildings. In 2012, a 12-storey new unique building was put into operation, providing students with the opportunity to obtain modern knowledge in various areas of higher and postgraduate education

The UNIVERSITY has a modern, meeting all qualification requirements, educational and material base with equipped lecture halls, classrooms, specialized classrooms, landfills, and an excellent scientific library. There is a modern gym, dining room, cafe, buffet and 2 dormitories.
